This guide provides clear and step-by-step instructions to help you seamlessly configure your parent site (MainWP Dashboard), child sites (MainWP Child), and the Post SMTP plugin for efficient email handling for your WordPress network.

Install MainWP Dashboard on your Parent Site

  • Log in to the WordPress site that you intend to designate as the parent site for managing all your other WordPress sites.
  • Navigate to the Plugins tab and click on “Add New.“
  • Search “MainWP Dashboard” from the search bar
  • Install and activate it on your parent site.

Install and Activate MainWP Child Plugin on your Child Site:

  • Log in to the WordPress site that you intend to designate as the parent site for managing all your other WordPress sites.
  • Navigate to the Plugins tab and click on “Add New.
  • Search “MainWPChild” from the search bar
  • Install and activate it on your parent site.

Add all your Sites with the Parent Site’s MainWP Dashboard:

  • Navigate to the Sites > Add new > Enable the Toggle Verify that the MainWP Child plugin is installed and activated

Get Required Settings from the Child Site:

  • Go to MainWP Child from your site’s side menu Settings > Connection Details.
  • Copy the administrator’s name.
  • Paste the name in your MainWP Dashboard settings.
  • Click “Add Site” on your MainWP Dashboard to add the child site.
  • Repeat this process for each of your child sites.

Pro Tip: Verify whether your child site connection is valid by using the Test Connection option.

Once the test is successful, a confirmation prompt will appear indicating that the connection was established successfully.

To avoid repeatedly entering the administrative password, you can disable this requirement in MainWP Child Settings → Require Password Authentication by turning off the toggle.

Note: Make sure the MainWP Child plugin is installed and activated on all your child sites.

Verify that the MainWP Child plugin is installed and activated on your site:

  • In the MainWP dashboard, go to Sites → Manage Sites to view all your listed child sites.
  • You can also sync your child site using the Sync Data icon in the header.

Once the sync process is complete, a confirmation modal will appear.

That’s it! You have successfully configured MainWP on your WordPress network.

Now, you can easily configure the MainWP Post SMTP extension to view email logs, get instant failure notifications, and set up a backup connection for your WordPress network from your MainWP Dashboard.
