Estimated reading: 3 minutes 5955 views

If you’re looking for a quick, secure, and streamlined way to configure the Gmail mailer using Post SMTP, our One-Click Setup feature is designed to make smtp integration effortless, with no technical requirements.

This documentation will guide you through the steps to set up the Gmail mailer efficiently, using our simplified setup process within Post SMTP.

To begin, ensure that the latest version of the Post SMTP plugin is installed and activated on your WordPress site. If it’s not yet installed, please refer to our Installation & Activation guide, and be sure to verify your license.

Activating Gmail One-Click Setup

You can enable the Gmail One-Click Setup quickly, straightforwardly, and require minimal manual input.

  • Launch the Setup Wizard from the Post SMTP dashboard.
  • Under the Mailer section, select Gmail API as your mailer option.

Authorizing Post SMTP with Your Google Account

After enabling One-Click Setup, continue with the Google authorization process:

  • Scroll down to the Authorization section.
  • Click on the Sign in with Google button.
  • A Google login window will appear. Log in using the Gmail account you wish to connect.
  • Google will then request permission to share basic profile information with Post SMTP. Click Continue.

You’ll then see a permission screen asking for access to your Google account. Click Continue to proceed.

  • After authorizing, you will be redirected to your WordPress site. A confirmation on your SMTP configuration will appear, verifying that your Gmail account has been successfully linked

Note: To understand the specific access permissions we require, see our Privacy Policy.

  • The email address you connected will now be displayed within the Authorization section.

To remove the existing authentication, click the “Remove Authentication” button. Once the connection is removed, the system will automatically reset to its default settings.

Note: To configure authorization settings need extended permissions. You can visit Google’s official documentation on Gmail API scopes and 0 Auth consent screen setup for detailed guidance. This ensures greater control and compliance in how the app accesses Google services.
