Let’s walk through how to integrate MailerSend with the Post SMTP plugin to send emails from your WordPress site.

Setting up Your MailerSend Account

To get started, you’ll need to create a MailerSend account. If you already have an account, log in at. Otherwise, sign up and follow the activation steps.

Once logged in:

  1. From the left-hand menu, click on Integrations.
  2. Under the API Tokens section, click Manage.

  1. Fill in the following:
    • Name: Choose a name to identify this token.
    • Domain: Select the domain you want to send from.
    • Expiration Date: Set an expiration time (optional).
    • Permissions: Ensure you enable Sending access.
  2. Click Generate token, then copy the API key for later use
  1. Copy the generated API key and paste it into the Post SMTP configuration settings.

Verifying Your Domain

MailerSend requires domain verification to ensure successful email delivery.

  1. In the dashboard, go to Domains from the left menu.
  2. Click Add Domain.
  1. Enter your domain name and click Add Domain.
  1. Choose one of the following methods to verify:
    • Automatic Verification: Click Start Verification and follow the prompt.

Automatic Verification: Click Start Verification and follow the prompt.

Manual Verification: Add the provided DNS records to your domain registrar. Then click Finish Verification once done.

Installing and Activating the Post SMTP Plugin

Make sure the Post SMTP plugin is installed and activated on your WordPress site. If you haven’t already, download it from the WordPress Plugin Directory.

Configuring MailerSend with Post SMTP

Once your domain is verified and your API key is ready, you can proceed with the Post SMTP Setup Wizard:

  1. From your WordPress dashboard, open Post SMTP.
  2. Start the setup wizard and choose MailerSend as your mailer.
  3. Click Continue to proceed to the configuration screen.
  • In this step:
    • Enter your From Email Address and Name.
    • Make sure your From Email matches the Admin Email Address and the domain you verified in MailerSend.
    • Enable the toggle to lock From Email and Name to prevent changes from plugins and themes.
    • Paste the MailerSend API Key you copied earlier into the API Key field.
    • Click Save and Continue to proceed.

Sending a Test Email

You’ll now see a screen prompting you to send a test email:

  1. Enter the Recipient Email Address where you want to send the test.
  2. Click Send Test Email to verify the configuration.

If the email is sent successfully, click Finish to complete the setup.

Checking Logs and Exploring More

  • To review sent emails, click View Logs Section.
  • If you want to skip log viewing, click Skip to the Dashboard to go to the main interface.
