MainWP Post SMTP Extension is a powerful and easy-to-use add-on that allows you to set up and control the Post SMTP configuration for all your sites from your MainWP dashboard. You can configure Post SMTP once on your main site and apply them to all your child sites with a single click.

Additionally, you can monitor the email delivery status, troubleshoot any issues, connect your fallback connection and get notified of any email failures for all your sites in one place.

Follow the below steps to install and configure the MainWP Post SMTP extension on your WordPress network.

Install the Post SMTP Plugin on the Parent Site

  • Login to your WordPress site, which you intend to designate as a Parent site for all your WordPress sites.
  • Navigate to the Plugins tab and click on “Add New.“
  • Search “Post SMTP” from the search bar
  • install and activate it on your parent site.

Install Post SMTP on the Child Sites from the MainWP Dashboard

Follow the steps below to install the Post SMTP plugin from the parent site’s MainWP dashboard on all the child sites you want to manage.

  • Go to the MainWP Dashboard and Navigate to the Sites > Plugin > Install Plugins
  • Search for the Post SMTP from the search bar and check the Install Plugin radio button.
  • Select all or specific child sites from the Select Site section to install and activate the Post SMTP plugin on them.
  • Click the Complete Installation button to install the Post SMTP plugin on all your selected child sites.
  • Confirm the success message indicating that Post SMTP has been installed on these sites.

Install MainWP Post SMTP Extension on the Parent Site:

  • Go to the Plugins tab and click on “Add New.
  • Search “MainWP Post SMTP Extension” from the search bar
  • Then install the extension.
  • Once Installed, activate it on your parent site.

Access MainWP Post SMTP Extension from the Parent Site MainWP Dashboard:

  • Go to the parent site’s MainWP dashboard from the wp-admin left menu bar.
  • Navigate to the MainWP Post SMTP extension from the Extension tab in the left menu.

Enable Parent Site Post SMTP Configuration for All Child Sites:

  • In the MainWP Dashboard, click on the “Extension” tab from the left menu bar.
  • Navigate to the MainWP Post SMTP extension.
  • Click the Enable All Sites button to enable the parent site Post SMTP configuration to all connected child sites and Save your settings.
  • Tap on the Save button to save the above settings.

Enable Parent Site Post SMTP Configuration for Specific Child Sites:

  • Enable the parent site’s Post SMTP configuration for the single or multiple child sites.
  • If needed, you can also specify the name, email address, and reply-to settings for your specific child sites.

Note: When using OAuth-based mailers like Zoho, Amazon SES, Gmail, Microsoft Outlook, the “From Email” and “From Name” must match the details used during the Post SMTP Wizard configuration. These fields cannot differ from the authenticated account.

When using API-based mailers like Brevo, Postmark, SendGrid, etc, you may specify a different “From Email” address than the one used during the Post SMTP Wizard setup. However, please ensure that the email address you use has been added as a Verified Sender (or verified identity) within your chosen provider’s dashboard.

Sync Parent Site to Child Sites

Navigate to Sites → Manage Sites. In the header, click the Sync icon to open the list of child sites. Select the sites you want to sync with the parent site.

Then start the sync process. Any actions or settings applied on the parent site will be replicated across the selected child sites.
