So, finally, we are about to enter 2025 and really excited about the journey ahead.

Eight years back, when Post SMTP was initially released, there was no such way to ease the SMTP onboarding process for WordPress, unlike today. I’m happy to see that more and more people from the community are taking an interest in this domain and helping people connect with the SMTP of their choice.

The Goal We Strive For

At Post SMTP, our goal has been not just to let the users connect to gmail/workspace, Office 365, Brevo, and other SMTP services but also to resolve all other email-related issues/concerns for our users.

That’s why, six years back, Post SMTP was the first SMTP plugin for WordPress to introduce the concept of email failure alerts. Also, we are pioneers in fallback email and resend email options.

We are the only WordPress SMTP plugin with the Chrome extension and dedicated mobile app for tracking and managing email failure alerts and notifications.

Key Accomplishments in 2024

This year, we have worked hard to release some other interesting and unique features.

👉 Introduced Post SMTP Android & iOS app — to monitor and manage your WordPress email deliverability with mobile notifications in case of failure. The users appreciated this initiative as it is one of a kind.

With the app’s pro version, you can even connect to multiple sites and receive notifications on your phone. You can even resend the emails right from the app without the need to log in to your WordPress dashboard.

👉 Improved our email logs section — last year, we introduced a new log section that is both lightweight and optimized, capable of accommodating millions of entries. This year, we added a filter to search logs based on the status and released some security improvements.

👉 NEW email health report —  Now you can Keep an eye on your email delivery metrics as per your desired frequency (daily, weekly, monthly) so you can identify and address any issues to ensure maximum email deliverability.

👉 Bulk resend option — Introduced bulk resend option for pro users to ease the flow of resending multiple failed emails simultaneously.

👉 Added support for SendPulse —  As the newest addition to our lineup of SMTP mailer options, SendPulse offers a fast, secure, and reliable SMTP solution designed to ensure email delivery.

🎉 Achieved a Remarkable Milestone — This year, the user base of Post SMTP grew from 300K to 400K WordPress users — one of the significant milestones in our journey. This growth reflects the trust and support of our incredible community, and we couldn’t be more grateful!

📃 Overall — We rolled out 21 releases during the year, including new features, improvements, bug fixes, and security improvements.

2025 Roadmap — Our Vision Forward

2025 will surely be a transformative year for Post SMTP. I’m excited to share some of the interesting features we will release in the first quarter.

✨ New Reporting Dashboard — You can check WordPress email delivery performance at a glance. With this new innovative reporting dashboard, you’ll be able to view and filter email metrics, including:

  • Recent email logs
  • Emails open rate
  • Total number of emails sent
  • Number of emails successfully sent
  • The number of emails that failed
  • Quick access to tools and documentation

It’s just in the initial phase. You’ll see more here as we move forward.

✨  Microsoft Teams integration — As we have a large number of Microsoft 365 users using Microsoft Teams as their communication channel, we are about to introduce the Microsoft Teams alerts option, which we are already offering for Slack, Twilio, and the Chrome extension.

✨  Gmail one-click option — Over recent years, we’ve heard consistent feedback from WordPress users on the complexity of creating gmail applications in order to use gmail SMTP. For this reason, to simplify the flow, we are about to introduce a pro feature to ease out this process with the upcoming Gmail one-click option, using which there will be no need to set up your own Gmail app.

✨  SPF, DKIM, and DMARK Checks — In 2024, we saw increased demand for email authentication protocols due to stricter enforcement by major email providers like Google and Yahoo, which led many emails to spam. To make this easier for you, we will add these DNS checks in our send test email module. For now, you can manually check the spam score of your email domain using our free tool called “Spam Score Checker.”

✨  Fallback module improvement — As we received great feedback regarding the new 3-step setup wizard we introduced at the end of 2023, we are implementing the same wizard to connect the fallback SMTP services and ease the current complicated flow.

✨  Smart routing & Support for multiple sockets — You will be able to connect two or more SMTP providers and then create conditional logic rules to determine which emails each provider sends. A feature that has been requested multiple times from the community.

Wrapping Up

As we close 2024 and look toward an exciting year ahead, I want to start with a heartfelt thank you to the incredible Post SMTP team. 💙 Your dedication, talent, and relentless pursuit of excellence have made this year’s milestones possible.

Also, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the WordPress community. You are indeed the heart of Post SMTP. Your suggestions, feedback, and trust inspire everything we do, and like families and close friends, we grow stronger by uplifting each other.
