Cloudflare With Post SMTP

Cloudflare Email Service is a transactional email delivery service that you can connect to WordPress through Post SMTP. This integration lets you send WordPress emails through Cloudflare’s Email Sending infrastructure.

Set Up Cloudflare Email Service

If you have not configured Cloudflare Email Service yet, start by onboarding your sending domain. Your sending domain must use Cloudflare DNS before you can use Email Sending.

Onboard Your Sending Domain

• Log in to your Cloudflare dashboard.
• Go to Compute → Email Service → Email Sending.
• Select Onboard Domain.

• Select the domain you want to use for sending emails.

• Review the DNS records provided by Cloudflare.

• Select Done to complete the setup.

Cloudflare provides the required DNS records, including SPF and DKIM. DNS changes can take some time to propagate.

Your sending domain must be onboarded before you can use it as the sender in Post SMTP.

Create a Cloudflare API Token

Post SMTP uses a Cloudflare API token to authenticate with Cloudflare Email Service.

The token must have the Email Sending: Edit permission. Cloudflare recommends using an account-owned token, but you can also use a user-owned token.

Create Your API Token

• Go to My Profile → API Tokens.
• Create a new API token.

• Grant the token email-sending permissions using the Edit option.

• Select the appropriate account.
• Create the token.
• Copy the API token.

Configure Cloudflare Email Service in Post SMTP

Use the Post SMTP Setup Wizard to configure Cloudflare Email Service.

Select Cloudflare Email Service

• Go to Post SMTP → Dashboard.
• Select Setup the Wizard.
• Select Cloudflare Email Service from the available mailers.
• Select Continue.

Enter Your Cloudflare Configuration

Enter the following details:

From Email

Enter the email address you want to use as the From Email address.

Example:

hello@yourdomain.com

The sender address must use a domain that you have onboarded for Email Sending in Cloudflare.

From Name

Enter the name you want recipients to see as the sender.

Example:

Your Company

API Token

Paste the Cloudflare API token you created earlier.

Post SMTP uses this token to authenticate with Cloudflare Email Service.

Account ID

Enter your Cloudflare Account ID.

Post SMTP uses the Account ID to connect to your Cloudflare account.

Send a Test Email

After entering your Cloudflare Email Service credentials and configuration details:

• Select Save & Continue.
• Enter an email address you can access.
• Select Send Test Email.

Verify Your Configuration

After sending the test email:

• Check the recipient’s inbox and spam folder.
• Go to Post SMTP → Email Log.
• Find the test email.
• Confirm that its status is Success.

You’re All Set

Cloudflare Email Service is now configured as your Post SMTP mailer, and your WordPress emails can be sent through Cloudflare.
