Step 1: Install Post SMTP

  1. Navigate to your admin dashboard and from the left-hand side navigation, choose Plugins and then Add Plugin.

  1. On the subsequent screen, use the Search plugin bar on the right-hand side to search for Post SMTP.
  2. Install the plugin using the Install button and wait until it turns into Activate
  3. Once Activated, half the work is done.

Step 2: Track and Resend Failed WooCommerce Emails

Now comes the fun part.

Post activation, you will be redirected to the plugin’s dashboard.

Here, scroll down until you find the bonus extensions, enable Email Delivery and Logs, and save progress using the Save Changes button.

Now, set up an SMTP connection using your favorite mailer. 

You can do so by starting the Setup the wizard.

Next, choose your favorite mailer and get their API keys. The process differs for each mailer; if you need a step-by-step process, our helpful documentation can assist you.

Get the API keys, and send a test email using the API of your chosen mailer.

As we learned, because these mailers properly authenticate emails, receiving servers place them in the inbox rather than the spam/junk folder. 

After you are done, navigate to Post SMTP, then Settings, then Advanced Delivery and Logs tab.

Scroll down until you find the Auto Retry options. Enable the feature using the toggle button, then enter the number of times the plugin should retry sending a failed email.

Alternatively, you can do so manually. To do so, go to Post SMTP and then Email Logs. 

Click Resend to resend the email.

[Optional] Step 3: Set up a Fall Back Server

As discussed earlier, Post SMTP allows you to set up a fallback server that takes over when your main server fails. This amazing feature is super helpful to ensure none of your important emails fail to send.

To set one up, return to Post SMTP, then Settings, and finally the Fallback tab.

Switch to Yes. Set up the outgoing mail server, mail server port, and choose security from SSL or TLS, and other important settings.

Once done, save progress using the Save Changes button.

[Optional] Step 4: Install Post SMTP Mobile App

To do so, go to the Google Play Store or App Store on your Android or iOS device, and search for the Post SMTP mobile application.
